The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (“IRDAI”), vide its Press Release dated February 11, 2026, has informed about a three-day workshop programme organised on account of Financial Literacy Week 2026 (FLW 2026), from February 9 to February 13, 2026, under the theme “KYC – Your First Step to Safety” (“Press Release”).The key highlights of the Press Release are as follows:

- The programme is being organised by the National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE), established under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013, and promoted by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), and Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).
- FLW 2026 focuses on strengthening awareness around Know Your Customer (KYC) norms and their role in safeguarding financial transactions.
- The programme covers the following themes:
- Basics of Know Your Customer (KYC).
- Central KYC Registry (CKYC).
- Account Hygiene and Discipline.
- KYC in Banking – Protecting Customers, Preventing Misuse.
- KYC in Securities Market – Foundation for Safe & Informed Investing.
- KYC in Insurance – Ensuring Authentic Coverage and Claim Security.
- KYC in Pension Systems – Securing Long-Term Retirement Benefits.
- A series of public webinars will be conducted in coordination with the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).
- Each webinar session is scheduled for approximately 60 minutes.
