Clarification on the IRDAI (Maintenance of Information by the Regulated Entities and Sharing of Info

IRDAI has issued a clarification dated July 22, 2025, on the IRDAI (Maintenance of Information by the Regulated Entities and Sharing of Information by the Authority) Regulations, 2025 (“Circular”). The key elements of clarification are as follow:

• Foreign Reinsurer’s branches (FRBs) and Lloyd’s India (including its syndicates and service companies) shall maintain all records in India, whether collected in physical or electronic form.

• FRBs and Lloyd’s India shall comply with the provisions of the IRDAI (Maintenance of Information by the Regulated Entities and Sharing of Information by the Authority) Regulations, 2025.
