The International Financial Services Centres Authority (“ IFSCA) , has issued a Press Release dated March 09, 2026, regarding the conclusion of the Open House Series conducted by the Office of Administrator (IFSCA) for regulated entities on SEZ compliance in GIFT IFSCA (“ Press Release ”).

The key highlights of the press release are as below:

  • The office of the Administration (IFSCA) commenced a structured series of Open House Sessions starting from January 06, 2026 aimed at strengthening stakeholder engagement and enhancing clarity on Special Economic Zone (SEZ) compliance requirements within GIFT IFSC.
  • A total of 14 Open House Sessions were conducted with participation from 230 plus Regulated Entities (“ REs ”) across multiple sectors of the IFSC ecosystem, including aircraft and ship leasing, finance companies, fund management entities, capital market intermediaries, banking entities, insurance entities, TechFin entities, ancillary service providers, payment service providers and global in-house centres.
  • The sessions focused on understanding the practical challenges faced by REs in complying with the SEZ Act, rules and circulars, and provided guidance on procedural requirements, documentation standards, approval timelines, periodic reporting obligations and other operational aspects across the lifecycle of regulated entities.
  • Further, the sessions also enabled the Office of the Administrator (IFSCA) to clarify applicable regulatory provisions and identify areas where procedural rationalisation may be considered, based on feedback received from participating entities.
  • In addition to SEZ compliance matters, discussions also covered other regulatory compliances under the IFSCA regulatory framework, facilitating a better understanding of cross-regulatory issues and enabling coordinated guidance to regulated entities.
  • The sessions reflect IFSCA’s continued commitment to transparency, responsiveness, and fostering a stable, efficient, and business-friendly regulatory environment within GIFT IFSC.
  • It was further highlighted that pursuant to the notification dated February 28, 2024 issued by the central Government all powers of the Development Commissioner under the SEZ Act 2005 are being exercised by the Administrator (IFSCA).
