IRDAI vide Notice bearing no. IRDAI/SUR/EXAM/ON/MAR/2024 dated January 11, 2024, has issued a notice pertaining to instructions that are required to be followed before initiating the registration for the Surveyor and 3 rd List of Eligible Trainee Applicants.
The highlights of the Instructions were as follows:
1. All applications that were submitted till December 31, 2023, have been approved by IRDAI between January 06, 2024, and January 10, 2024 (the approved enrolment list is attached along with the Notification).
2. Applicants with multiple enrolments for different departments have been made eligible with only 1 approved enrolment number.
3. If there are any discrepancies in the list pertaining to the examination scheduled in March 2024, then eligible applicants shall contact kiransharma@irdai.gov.in before 5.00 PM till January 11, 2024.
4. Applicants whose details already appeared in previous lists may approach the Insurance Institute of India (III) with the previous issued date of the published list.
5. Applicants need to obtain student membership from the Indian Institute of Insurance Surveyors & Loss Assessors before appearing for the exam. Further, the Applicants shall appear for the exams pertaining only to their respective departments for which they have enrolled.
6. Applicants need to take a screenshot of the status of their Trainee Enrolment Application under their login in IRDAI BAP Portal [showing status as “Approved/Partially Approved”, Enrolment No. & Date of Approval (Enrolment)] as a proof.
7. Applicants are required to enter the Enrolment No. as “10000XXXXX” (10-digit no. only) and enrolment Date as “DD-MM-YYYY”.
8. Applicants are required to appear for the examination only for the respective department for which they have enrolled as Trainee Surveyors.
9. If the enrolments are approved, then they shall register for Online Surveyor Examination, in March 2024 with the requisite fee on the website ( www.insuranceinstituteofindia.com ).
10. Inquiries regarding online examination shall be submitted to surveyor@iii.org.in or Call 022-69654230/244/259.

Regulation 3 (2) of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Insurance Surveyors and Loss Assessors) (Amendments) Regulations, 2020 provided eligibility criteria as:
Reg. 3 (2) (b) – Examination: Passing of relevant paper(s) of Surveyor and Loss Assessor Examination conducted by the Insurance Institute of India, or such other Institute recognized by the Authority.
