Surrender of Certificate of Registration by AXA France Vie India Reinsurance Branch

The IRDAI (“Authority”) in its press release dated August 18, 2025, has notified the surrender of Certificate of Registration by AXA France Vie India Reinsurance Branch (AFV FRB) (“Press Release”). The key highlights of the press release are as under:

• AFV FRB was granted Certificate of Registration (CoR) vide Registration No. FRB/009 dated July 28, 2017 to act as a Foreign Reinsurer’s Branch in India.
• AFV FRB Voluntarily requested Authority to surrender the CoR as per Regulation 18(3)(d) of the IRDAI (Registration and Operations of Foreign Reinsurers Branches & Lloyd’s India) Regulation 2024, read with Clause 12 of Master Circular on Reinsurance dated May 31, 2024.

• The Authority in its Board Meeting held on July 14, 2025 approved the surrender of CoR issued to AFV FRB.
• In view of the above, the CoR issued to AFV FRB stands withdrawn and it is no longer registered with IRDAI to act as a Foreign Reinsurer’s Branch.
