IRDAI vide ref no. IRDAI/HLT/CIR/MISC/124/06/2023 dated June 08, 2023 has issued Circular on Testing and adoption of Health Claims Exchange (HCX) specifications and e-claim standards.
National Health Claims Exchange (NCHX) is a new initiative under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) that aims to bring interoperability of health claims and streamline the process of claim settlement. NHCX will act as a gateway for the ecosystem wherein insurers/TPA would send responses for each Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources Standard (FHiR) based on the e-claim submitted by providers via the NHCX through standards protocols (APs). In view of the above, IRDAI has advised insurers / TPA’s to undertake following steps
- Test and adopt the NHCX specifications and data profiles as part of e-claim standards which are hosted on https://sbxhcx.abdm.gov.in
- On-board themselves to NHCX platform as soon as possible
- To get the healthcare providers in their network to join the NHCX platform at the earliest.
